GlossGenius: Book appointment

glossgenius_book_appointment

GlossGenius: Book a client into a time on your calendar. GlossGenius notifies the client if you ask it to. Creates one appointment and returns its ID, time and services. GlossGenius allows booking any day and time, even outside working hours, so call find_open_slots first. It books one appointment, not a repeating series. By default you confirm each call; you can switch that off for this tool. Reaches other people: confirm with the user before each call. Needs the user's Cotlet API key with access to this app.

TDQS

A4.3/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Adds substantial context beyond the annotations: client notification behavior, the returned fields (ID, time, services), the ability to book outside working hours, a per-call confirmation default, and the Cotlet API-key requirement. The annotations only declare write/openWorld/destructive=false; the description enriches these meaningfully.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loaded with purpose and reasonably tight, but it is long and repeats "GlossGenius" and the confirmation instruction ("By default you confirm each call" and "confirm with the user before each call") in slightly redundant ways.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a booking mutation tool with annotations and no output schema, it covers notification, return values, prerequisites, confirmation and auth needs. Minor gaps remain around failure modes (e.g. double-booking) but nothing critical is missing.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so all six parameters are already documented with sources (find_client, list_services, etc.). The description restates the notify/return behavior but adds no format or syntax detail beyond what the schema provides, so the baseline 3 applies.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb+resource ("Book a client into a time") and its scope ("Creates one appointment"). Clear on its own, though it does not explicitly name the sibling tools it diverges from other than find_open_slots.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines5/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Explicitly names the prerequisite alternative ("call find_open_slots first") and gives an exclusion ("books one appointment, not a repeating series"), plus a confirmation workflow. An agent knows when to reach for this versus a slot-lookup.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
