Dext: Unarchive items

dext_unarchive_items

Dext: Move items from the Archive back to the Inbox, optionally clearing publishing data. Returns items to the Inbox. With clear_publishing_data true, an already published item can be published again as a new transaction, which may create a duplicate in the accounting software. With false the item cannot be published again and shows a publishing error. By default you confirm each call; you can switch that off for this tool. Reaches other people: confirm with the user before each call. Needs the user's Cotlet API key with access to this app.

TDQS

A4.6/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Goes well beyond the annotations (readOnlyHint=false, destructiveHint=false, openWorldHint=true) by disclosing the duplicate-transaction risk in the accounting software when clear_publishing_data is true, the publishing-error behavior when false, and the per-call user confirmation requirement. The note that it 'reaches other people' and needs a Cotlet API key with app access adds material operational context.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loaded with the core action and compact overall, but the second clause 'Returns items to the Inbox' restates the opening sentence, and the confirmation/API-key requirements are appended as a run-on tail rather than structured separately.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With only two fully documented parameters, no output schema, and full annotation coverage, the description supplies everything an agent needs: the state transition, the branch consequences of the optional flag, and the authorization/confirmation prerequisites.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is already 100%, so the baseline is 3, but the description adds genuine consequence-level meaning to clear_publishing_data (republishable as a new transaction and possible duplicate vs. stuck with a publishing error) that the schema's terse 'true allows republishing' does not convey.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb+resource (move items from the Archive back to the Inbox) and frames the optional publishing-data behavior, which cleanly separates it from dext_archive_items and dext_publish_items. An agent can pick it correctly without opening the schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives clear context for when to call it (restoring archived items) and the condition that changes the outcome (clear_publishing_data true vs false). It does not explicitly name sibling alternatives such as dext_publish_items, so routing between the two is left to inference, but the usage context itself is unambiguous.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
