TDQS

A3.8/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Goes beyond the annotations (which only cover readOnly/openWorld/destructive) by disclosing the default filter window, the ordering, the pagination mechanism ('pass next_cursor back as cursor'), and the auth requirement ('Cotlet API key with access to this app'). That is meaningful operational context for a read tool.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness3/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The first two sentences are largely redundant, repeating 'bookings by activity date... activity, time, number of people and status.' The key facts are front-loaded, but a sentence does not earn its place.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With no output schema and 5 optional params, the description supplies the returned fields, default date range, ordering, pagination, auth prerequisite, and a pointer to get_booking for pricing. Fairly complete for a list tool, though it could state the maximum page size or rate limits.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so each parameter (to, from, cursor, status, activity_id) is already documented in the schema. The description restates the default window and cursor flow, adding little beyond what the schema already says, so the baseline of 3 applies.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource ('Lists bookings by activity date') with scope detail (start-time ordering, returned fields). It also gestures at sibling differentiation by naming get_booking for price and contact. The near-duplicate opening sentences blunt it slightly, but the purpose is unambiguous.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives clear context on default behavior ('confirmed bookings for the next 7 days') and routes a specific need to an alternative ('Use booking_id with get_booking for the price and contact'). No explicit when-not-to-use condition, so it stops short of a 5.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
