Bandsintown: Publish event

bandsintown_publish_event

Bandsintown: Publish a draft now or at a set time, optionally notifying followers. Publishes a draft now, or schedules it, as the dashboard's Publish and Schedule to Publish do. With notify_followers on, Bandsintown alerts followers. By default you confirm each call; you can switch that off for this tool. Reaches other people: confirm with the user before each call. Needs the user's Cotlet API key with access to this app.

TDQS

A3.9/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already cover the safety profile (readOnlyHint=false, openWorldHint=true, destructiveHint=false), and the description adds real context beyond them: it alerts followers when notify_followers is on, reaches other people, and requires confirmation that can be switched off. This is substantive behavioral disclosure, though some ('reaches other people') overlaps with openWorldHint.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness3/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The purpose is front-loaded, but the description is repetitive: two opening sentences restate the now/scheduled behavior, and the confirmation requirement is stated twice ('you confirm each call' and 'confirm with the user before each call'). Tightening would improve it.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a 3-param mutation with no output schema, the description covers the important agent-facing concerns: external reach, follower notification, confirmation policy, and auth requirements. Only the return/response behavior is unspecified, which is minor here.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so the baseline is 3, but the description adds meaning for notify_followers by explaining the downstream effect of alerting Bandsintown followers, which the schema's terse 'Alert followers' does not convey.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource (publish a draft event) and clarifies the two modes (now vs. scheduled). It clearly distinguishes publishing an existing draft from creation/editing, though it never explicitly names the create/update/delete siblings an agent might confuse it with.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives clear operational context: operates on a draft (event_id from list_events), needs an API key with app access, and requires per-call user confirmation. It implies when to use it but does not explicitly route the agent to alternatives like create_event when no draft exists.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
