Import an image (link or base64)

import_image

Give WowReveal an image without a file upload: pass url (a public https link to a PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF, up to 10 MB — the server downloads it; private and local addresses are refused) or data_base64 (the image as base64 text, or a data: address). Returns upload_id: use it as start_upload_id / end_upload_id / reference_upload_ids in studio_generate (image presets and image-to-video need one) or anywhere a tool takes upload_id. An import that is not used is deleted after 48 hours. Free.

Input Schema

urlNoPublic https link to the image.
nameNoA name to show in the library (default: the file name in the link).

TDQS

A4.7/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

The description adds substantial behavior beyond annotations: URL images are downloaded server-side, private/local addresses are refused, accepted formats and 10 MB limit are given, the return value upload_id is explained, and unused imports are deleted after 48 hours. These are exactly the operational details an agent needs for safe invocation.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The description is front-loaded with the core action and input options, then covers return value, usage, retention, and cost in a compact flow. Every sentence contributes operational information without repetition or filler.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a three-parameter import tool with no output schema, the description is complete: it explains accepted inputs, constraints, return value, downstream use, retention behavior, and cost. Annotations already cover safety properties, and the description supplies the remaining context an agent needs.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so the schema already documents all three parameters. The description still adds useful semantics for url and data_base64, including public HTTPS requirement, accepted formats, size limit, server-side download behavior, and data: address support. It does not add detail for the name parameter, but the schema covers it adequately.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description states a specific verb and resource: importing an image into WowReveal without a file upload. It distinguishes the two accepted input modes, url and data_base64, and explains the resulting upload_id, so an agent can immediately understand what the tool does.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It clearly explains when to use the tool: when the caller has a public image URL or base64 image data rather than a file upload. It also explains downstream usage of upload_id in studio_generate and other tools that accept upload_id. It does not explicitly name when not to use it versus sibling generation tools, which keeps it below 5.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
