Turn notes into a flow

notes_to_flow

Turn a list of notes (for example sticky notes from a workshop) into a process flow and save it as a new flow. Only facts in the notes are used. Notes that are not process facts (questions, opinions, risks) are left out. The notes are saved as the transcript of the flow. Uses one AI help call from the plan. Returns the new flow_id and open_url.

Input Schema

TDQS

A4/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Goes well beyond the annotations (which only cover the write/safe/idempotency profile): it discloses that only process facts are kept, that questions/opinions/risks are dropped, that the notes become the flow transcript, that it consumes 'one AI help call from the plan', and what is returned. The quota disclosure is a genuinely non-obvious operational trait.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Five short sentences, all front-loaded with the core action first, and each sentence adds distinct information (input type, filtering, transcript, quota, return values) with no filler.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With no output schema, the description usefully names the return values (flow_id, open_url), and it covers filtering, quota cost, and annotations. Minor gaps remain around optional parameter semantics, but overall it tells the agent enough to call the tool correctly.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so the schema already documents all five parameters including the enum and optional ids. The description restates the notes input but adds no syntax or semantic detail for title, team_id, direction, or folder_id beyond what the schema carries.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb+resource: 'Turn a list of notes ... into a process flow and save it as a new flow.' The input type (list of notes, e.g. sticky notes) implicitly distinguishes it from create_flow_from_text and create_flow_from_graph, but no sibling is named explicitly.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines3/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Implies usage context via 'sticky notes from a workshop' but gives no explicit when-to-use or when-not-to-use guidance, and never routes the agent between this and create_flow_from_text/create_flow_from_graph. The filtering rules hint at intended input but not alternative selection.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
