Save the presentation slides

set_presentation_slides

Save the slide deck — REPLACES all slides (add, remove, reorder, edit). Each slide: image (public URL or base64; JPG/PNG/WebP/GIF ≤5 MB; omit to keep the stored image of an existing slide id), extracted text and presenter script. PDF upload is not supported by the API: render the PDF pages to images first. Then write scripts with generate_slide_script and set_presentation_voice. Free.

A4.5/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

With no annotations present, the description carries the full burden and does so well: it discloses the destructive replace-all semantics, the image formats and 5 MB limit, how omitting an image interacts with a retained slide id, and a hard API limitation (no PDF). These are exactly the behavioral facts an agent needs before a full overwrite call.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Dense but front-loaded — the destructive REPLACES clause comes first where it matters most. Some of the clause-stacking ('...PDF upload is not supported by the API: render the PDF pages to images first. Then write scripts...') reads a bit crammed, but almost every sentence carries weight.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a full-overwrite mutation with no annotations and no output schema, it covers constraints, formats, and next steps well. It's only slightly incomplete in not hinting at what the save returns or confirming cost/auth beyond 'Free'.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 67%, and the description adds real meaning beyond it: image formats and size cap, the 'omit to keep the stored image of an existing slide id' rule, and what extracted text / narrator script represent. It doesn't clarify pdf_name or page_number, leaving a small gap.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States the specific verb and resource ('Save the slide deck') and immediately defines the operation's scope: REPLACES all slides with add/remove/reorder/edit semantics. An agent can distinguish this write operation from generate_slide_script or set_presentation_voice without opening the schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives a clear workflow context ('Then write scripts with generate_slide_script and set_presentation_voice') and a when-not constraint ('PDF upload is not supported... render the PDF pages to images first'). It doesn't explicitly name when to prefer an alternative slide-writing tool, but the surrounding guidance is strong enough to route the agent correctly.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
