TDQS

A4.4/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations only declare destructiveHint/openWorldHint; the description adds the substantive behavior: it is a partial update (only supplied fields change), prior values are lost, user confirmation should precede the call, and edits are blocked mid-trade. That is exactly the pre-call context the annotations cannot supply.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Four short sentences, front-loaded with the selection criterion, then mutation semantics, then the confirmation warning, then the two constraints. Nothing is redundant and nothing is buried.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For an 11-parameter destructive mutation it covers the essential risks: partial update semantics, data loss, confirmation, and blocked states. An output schema exists so return values need not be explained; the only mild gap is no note on cross-field consistency, e.g. changing category/type while details stay for the old category.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, with enum values and nested details fields fully documented, so the schema carries the parameter burden and baseline 3 applies. The description adds only the negative case that photos cannot be changed here, with no field-level guidance beyond that.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource (change/edit an existing listing) and scopes it to 'one of their own active listings', which cleanly separates it from create_listing, remove_listing and set_listing_status. An agent can identify the operation without opening the schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives clear use conditions ('when the user wants to change one of their own active listings') plus two explicit exclusions: listings in a trade in progress and photos. It does not name a sibling tool for the photo case, so the routing guidance is strong but not fully closed.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
