Verify a luck-board round

verify_play
Read-only

Re-runs a settled luck-board round from its seeds and checks it against the recorded play: the server seed's hash committed before the play, your client seed, the nonce and the result (a play's verify from my_plays is exactly the input). Use it after a round to prove the result wasn't changed. No play with that server seed on the board fails. You can also re-run it yourself with @luckloop/core's verifyPlay.

A4.2/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations declare readOnlyHint=true and openWorldHint=false, so safety is covered; the description adds the substantive behavior that it re-runs from seeds and checks against the committed hash, plus the note that no play with that server seed fails. It omits what the response actually contains, which matters for a verification tool.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Core action is front-loaded and the content is dense but relevant, with no filler sentences. The parenthetical and the phrase 'No play with that server seed on the board fails' are slightly convoluted and could be tightened.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness3/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

There is no output schema, so the description carries the burden of explaining the return value, yet it never states what a verification returns (a boolean, a match/mismatch report, an error). Inputs and mechanism are well covered, but the result contract is left implicit.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so the baseline is 3, but the description adds provenance value: it explains that a play's `verify` from my_plays is exactly the input, tying the fields (committed server seed hash, client seed, nonce, result) to their source. This is meaning beyond the schema's terse field descriptions.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb (re-runs/verify) and resource (a settled luck-board round), and explains the verification mechanism against recorded plays. An agent can distinguish this from my_plays and play_luck_board without opening the schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Explicitly says 'Use it after a round to prove the result wasn't changed' and points to my_plays for the input shape, giving clear context. It stops short of naming sibling alternatives or when-not-to-use conditions, but the usage window is unambiguous.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
