SyncSignature Email Signatures

Preview signature

preview_signature
Read-only

Render email-safe HTML. Renders only — it does not save anything or change what anyone has installed. Two forms. (1) template_id plus the person fields: a catalog template filled with one person's values. (2) workspace_template_id plus teammate_id, with the proposed fields and/or design: a workspace template edit shown as that teammate would get it, with how many teammates the edit would change.

A4.4/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnlyHint=true and destructiveHint=false. The description adds useful behavioral context beyond annotations: it does not save anything or change installed signatures, and form 2 reports how many teammates the proposed edit would affect.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The description front-loads the core purpose and then presents the two forms compactly. Every sentence contributes either to safety context, mode selection, or expected preview output.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a 17-parameter tool with nested objects and no output schema, the description provides enough mode structure and safety/impact context to invoke it correctly. It does not detail the exact return shape beyond 'email-safe HTML' or validation edge cases, so it stops short of fully complete.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so the baseline is 3. The description adds meaning by grouping the 17 parameters into two mutually exclusive forms and explaining what each mode previews, which is valuable beyond the individual parameter descriptions.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description states a specific verb and resource: 'Render email-safe HTML.' It clarifies that it only renders and does not save or change installations, and it outlines two distinct preview modes, which differentiates it from sibling update/get tools.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It explains the two usage modes clearly: form 1 uses template_id plus person fields, and form 2 uses workspace_template_id plus teammate_id with proposed fields/design. It gives strong context for when each form applies, but it does not explicitly name alternatives or when-not conditions.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
