Update workspace name and branding

workspace_update

Rename the workspace or change its branding (primaryColor, accentColor hex; logoUrl/faviconUrl from an upload; fontFamily, footerText, defaultCta). null removes a value. Workspace admins only. The workspace address can't change, so printed codes keep working.

TDQS

A3.9/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnlyHint=false and destructiveHint=false, and the description still adds real context: the admin-only auth requirement, the null-clears-a-value semantics, and the immutability guarantee that the workspace address can't change so printed codes keep working. It stops short of saying whether omitted fields are left untouched versus reset.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Three dense sentences, zero filler, with the core action front-loaded and the constraints (null semantics, admin-only, immutable address) appended in priority order.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a nested-object mutation with no output schema and no required parameters, the description covers auth, clear-vs-set semantics, and the one field that cannot change. The remaining gap is the update strategy for omitted nested fields (merge vs replace), which an agent calling this tool would want confirmed.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Reported top-level schema coverage is 0%, so the description must compensate, and it largely does — it names every theme field (primaryColor, accentColor, logoUrl, faviconUrl, fontFamily, footerText, defaultCta), flags the hex format indirectly, sources the logo/favicon from an upload, and explains that null removes a value. Only the top-level 'name' parameter and the partial-update merge rule go unstated.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb pair ('Rename the workspace or change its branding') and enumerates the exact fields it touches, which lets an agent distinguish it from the read-only workspace_get. It does not, however, address how it relates to the sibling brand_kit_set, which plausibly covers overlapping branding surface.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines3/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Implied usage is clear — this is the mutation counterpart to workspace_get — and an authorization precondition is given ('Workspace admins only'). But there is no explicit when-to-use/when-not guidance and no pointer to an alternative for branding, despite brand_kit_set sitting in the sibling list.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
