Share a briefing with a link

share_briefing
Idempotent

Create (or read) the public link of a briefing: a cleaned-up read-only copy — no personal "why this matters to you" notes, no name. The podcast episode comes along only if podcast is true: the hosts greet the reader by name, so that is the reader's call. Idempotent: calling again returns the same link; unshare_briefing revokes it.

TDQS

A4.1/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already cover idempotence and non-destructiveness, so the bar is lower, yet the description adds real context beyond them: the shared copy is stripped of personal notes and the reader's name, and the podcast episode leaks the reader's name via host greetings, hence the opt-in. That privacy implication is genuinely useful. The idempotency restatement duplicates the annotation.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Purpose is front-loaded and every clause carries content, but the parenthetical privacy details and the podcast aside make the sentence dense. It is efficient without being padded, though slightly wordy.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

There is no output schema, and the description compensates by stating that repeated calls return the same link, giving the agent the key return behavior. Combined with the visibility and privacy notes, an agent has enough to call it correctly; only edge cases like error behavior on an invalid briefing_id are unaddressed.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so both parameters are already documented. The description echoes the podcast semantics (episode included only when true) and its naming rationale but adds little syntactic or default detail beyond the schema, and says nothing new about briefing_id. Baseline 3 is appropriate when the schema does the heavy lifting.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description states a specific verb and resource: creating (or reading) the public link of a briefing. It also names the reverse operation, unshare_briefing, so an agent can tell it apart from the update/delete siblings without opening a schema. No sibling does the same thing.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It gives clear operational context: repeating the call is idempotent and unshare_briefing revokes the link, which orients the agent among alternatives. It also frames the podcast decision as the reader's call, guiding parameter choice. It stops short of an explicit when-to-use/when-not statement (e.g., when sharing is warranted vs. generate_briefing).

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
