Get company profile

company_detail
Read-only

Fetch a single company by Prometiam internal ID, or by the register's own number: give country and company_number (NIF, SIREN or SIRET, CRN, KRS, CVR, ...; GET /companies/{country}/{company_number}, 1 credit, same answer and same include). No company with that number is a 404; a number several companies carry (US registers, a German commercial-register entry) is a 409 ambiguous_company_number whose error.candidates list the ids. Returns full profile including officers (appointments for ES, FR, GB, NO, PL and CZ; Czech Republic: the members the register lists today, natural persons as the name and the month and year of birth only, a company member's foreign register number left out when it has the shape of a personal number, no officer history, no person records; null with a notice when they could not be read, which means unknown, not none), registry coordinates, founding date and the age fields (age_years, age_band, age_basis), the NACE class with its English title and the same industry as NACE Rev. 2 and Rev. 2.1, ISIC Rev. 4 and NAICS 2022 codes (the rules and limits are those of companies_search), capital, current standard status (with stage and the register's local_status), standard legal form (with local_legal_form), identifiers and registry_details, and advertising_protected (Denmark: the CVR register mark that the company asked not to be contacted for direct marketing, CVR act s.19; true means do not use the record for direct marketing, false means the register states no protection, null for other countries and where the register holds no mark yet; the company is served either way). include=lei (Spain) adds lei_record, the GLEIF record; lei is the code string. recent_events (ES/FR/GB) carries the same served event_type + raw act_type as events_search. Get an ID from companies_search first. Pass include to attach extra blocks — notably risk_flags (published tax-debt / debarment signals) and insolvency. UK disqualified directors: on a GB company, disqualified_officers lists the company's CURRENT officers who are on the Companies House register of disqualified directors with a disqualification in force (each with the same disqualifications entry as /people/{id}); an empty list means none found, null means the register could not be read (retry). Matched as on /people/{id} (full name plus birth month), so only persons with significant control are covered, not directors. eu_size_class, eu_size and fiscal_year_end_month (every plan, no extra credit): an INDICATIVE EU size class (micro, small, medium or large of Commission Recommendation 2003/361/EC: staff under 10, 50 and 250, and turnover or balance sheet total up to EUR 2m, 10m and 50m, 43m for the balance sheet total) read from the latest annual accounts held (fiscal year 2022 or later) and the register head count; a class, never the figures, with eu_size.range (the classes still possible when the class is null), eu_size.basis, eu_size.autonomy (unverified, or group_member_known) and indicative true. Not a determination that a company is or is not an SME: the partner and linked-enterprise test cannot be applied (a known parent only floors the class; France INSEE category ETI or GE means large, PME at most medium), one year is read, the head count is the accounts average or the register, not annual work units. GB, RO, FR, EE, SE, DK, LV and NO give a class; LT and FI (no head count) a range, or large; null for sole proprietorships (ENK, EI), Brazil, Colombia and every other country. fiscal_year_end_month (1-12) is the month the latest annual accounts end, for every company of those countries with annual accounts held, whatever the fiscal year.

Company records only: the company number is the 20-character LEI (ISO 17442 check) or, for the energy market register, the commercial-register entry with the court (HRB12653/FRANKFURT-AM-MAIN), searchable with company_number, lei, or register_number (HRB12653, optional register_court); no officers, share capital, activity code or VAT number (a vat search is refused), no registry-compliance signal and no financial statements; register-change events for the LEI-registered entities (name, status, legal form, registered address, none before the first load, October 2026) and monitoring are available. Updated daily. GmbH, UG (haftungsbeschränkt), AG, KGaA, SE, OHG, KG (including GmbH & Co. KG), eG and PartG only; sole traders (e.K.) and other natural persons, GbR, associations (e.V.), foundations, public-law bodies, funds and branches are never served. Status is active, deregistered or merged; the LEI's own renewal status is registry_details.lei_status; the register court, register type and number (for example Amtsgericht München, HRB) are in registry_details. German corporate insolvency notices are served separately (Germany is one of the sixteen insolvency markets) and are not linked to these records. Credit: Contains LEI data from the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF), available under CC0 1.0. Not an extract of the German commercial register (Handelsregister). Energy market register records also carry: Contains data from the Marktstammdatenregister of the Bundesnetzagentur (https://www.marktstammdatenregister.de/MaStR/Datendownload), licensed under the Datenlizenz Deutschland – Namensnennung – Version 2.0 (dl-de/by-2-0, https://www.govdata.de/dl-de/by-2-0). Data changed: selected, joined and normalised by Prometiam. Mexico (MX): two sources, one record per company. (1) LEI holders (GLEIF golden copy, CC0 1.0): the company number is the LEI (also lei=), with register-change events and monitoring. (2) The companies of the DENUE directory of INEGI (Mexico's national statistics institute). DENUE is a statistical directory of economic units, not the Mexican company register and not a list of all Mexican companies. A unit is served as a company only when it carries a razón social and shows evidence of being a company's (a legal form in the name, a word that says business, a second unit under one INEGI enterprise code, or a match with an LEI holder); natural persons, public bodies, public-sector schools, associations, funds, trusts, branches and sole establishments are screened out, not guaranteed out. For a company only DENUE lists: the name as INEGI publishes it (the legal form is stripped from most names, so legal_form is set only where the name carries one); status null (local_status unknown); no founding date, age or dissolution date; the head-office address with postal code, municipality and locality (registry_details.address_basis); the activity as the head-office unit's SCIAN 2018 code with INEGI's title (activity_code_scheme MX-SCIAN-2018; no NACE, ISIC or NAICS code is derived); employee_band, the size band of the largest unit (a floor for the company, never a head count); registry_details.establishments, the units listed under the name (can undercount); registry_details.denue_listed_since (not a founding date); the website only where DENUE gives a plausible host name; source_provider INEGI. No officers, share capital, VAT number (a vat search is refused), financial statements, insolvency notices or register-change events, and monitoring raises sanctions matches only. The company number of such a company is E plus INEGI's four-digit enterprise code, a dash and eight hexadecimal digits (E0042-0A1B2C3D), or U plus INEGI's unit id (U1001): an identifier of this API, not an INEGI or tax number, and not promised stable until a second INEGI edition has been compared; company_number takes it as well as an LEI. An LEI holder that is also in DENUE keeps GLEIF's data (registry_details.source stays gleif) and gains the DENUE fields. INEGI publishes the directory about twice a year (registry_details.denue_edition). Credit: Fuente: INEGI, Directorio Estadístico Nacional de Unidades Económicas (DENUE) 05/2026. Adapted by Prometiam; not an INEGI product and not endorsed by INEGI. LEI records: Contains LEI data from the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF), available under CC0 1.0; not an extract of the Mexican company register. Defaults to first country in the API key allowlist.
includeNoComma-separated extra blocks: procurement, insolvency, financials, lei, risk_flags, structure, charges — or all (all adds lei and risk_flags; name procurement, insolvency, financials and structure explicitly). structure adds corporate_structure: the direct and ultimate parent as reported to GLEIF (Level 2, CC0) for a company of any live country that carries an LEI (null with a meta.notice when none is linked: not reported, not no parent). For a Spanish company the block is returned even without an LEI and carries register_ownership: the sole shareholder named by the BORME sole-shareholder notices since 2009 (companies only; a natural person is never stored or served; null sole_shareholder means no notice names a company, not that there is no owner), the ultimate owner, the foreign parent of a branch (NIF W) and the companies it solely owns, all figures floors; credit: Based on data from the Agencia Estatal Boletín Oficial del Estado (BORME). financials adds latest_financials (GB, FR, DK, SE, NO, FI, US SEC filers, EE, LT and RO headline figures, LV, CO Superintendencia de Sociedades filers, BR listed companies, and listed companies in ES, PL, HR, BE; Scale plan and above; see company_financials for the limits). charges (GB) asks Companies House live for the secured-debt summary when the nightly crawl has not reached it (the summary is registry_details.charges: outstanding, satisfied and part-satisfied counts, latest charge date, lenders of the outstanding charges; null = not fetched yet, unknown, never none). risk_flags is Spain only and each row states whether its identifier was read directly from the source or reconstructed with name corroboration.
company_numberNoThe register's number for the country (NIF/CIF, SIREN or SIRET, Companies House number, KRS, CVR, ...), instead of id; needs country.

Germany (DE): LEI-registered entities (Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation, GLEIF golden copy), plus companies listed in the energy market register (Marktstammdatenregister, Bundesnetzagentur) with their commercial-register entry that no LEI record holds; not the German commercial register (Handelsregister). The second source is a partial layer declared by the market actors and not checked against the commercial register: status null (local_status unknown), no founding date, no register-change events; registry_details.source is gleif or mastr. Defaults to first country in the API key allowlist."

Defaults to first country in the API key allowlist."

A4.1/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations only declare readOnly/openWorld/destructive=false, and the description goes far beyond: credit cost, the two error modes with the exact field carrying candidates, and repeated null-vs-empty semantics (e.g. disqualified_officers 'an empty list means none found, null means the register could not be read (retry)'; officers null means 'unknown, not none'). It also discloses that 'charges' triggers a live Companies House fetch, that financials needs Scale plan and above, and that eu_size_class is indicative rather than an SME determination. This is unusually rich behavioral context for a read tool.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness2/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The core call contract is front-loaded and readable in the first few sentences, but the body then balloons to many hundreds of words of per-country register provenance, licences, credit lines and statistical-directory caveats (DENUE, INEGI, ACRA, JAR, SHAB, etc.). Much of this duplicates the `country` enum description and belongs in a coverage/documentation tool, and burying include-block behaviour and null semantics mid-stream makes the description hard to scan.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a tool with 4 parameters, no required fields, no output schema and a 45-value country enum, essentially every question an agent could have is answered: resolution keys, credit cost, both error paths, per-country officer coverage, include-block contents, plan gating, and null-versus-empty conventions. Nothing needed to call it correctly is absent — the problem is surplus, not omission.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so the baseline is 3, but the description genuinely adds meaning for `include`: which blocks each token attaches (lei adds lei_record for Spain, risk_flags is Spain-only, structure adds corporate_structure from GLEIF, charges live-fetches the secured-debt summary), the 'all' alias behaviour, and plan restrictions. The id/company_number/country semantics are left entirely to the schema, which is fine given its coverage.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

Opens with a concrete verb and resource and states the two lookup keys ('Fetch a single company by Prometiam internal ID, or by the register's own number'), plus the target shape everyone shares ('same answer and same include'). It routes the agent to companies_search for obtaining an ID, but never distinguishes itself from siblings like company_by_identifier or companies_lookup, which appear to overlap on identifier-based lookup.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives real selection guidance: use companies_search first, supply either id or country+company_number, and it spells out failure routing — 404 for an unknown number, 409 ambiguous_company_number with error.candidates when several companies share the number. It also flags the 1-credit cost and plan gating for financials. What's missing is an explicit statement of when to prefer this over company_by_identifier or when not to call it at all.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
