Get section content

get_section_content
Read-only

Get a single section's full content and config from a page. Returns the complete section including all uislices with ctx (content) and cfg (layout config), with empty values left out. Use this to inspect one section in isolation before editing, instead of loading the whole page.

Typical flow: call get_page_content (or list_pages) to find the section id, then call get_section_content to read that one section, then call save_section_content to save your edits. When the section draws items from a collection, collectionFed lists those paths: they show the collection's entries and are read-only here.

A4.3/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnlyHint=true and destructiveHint=false, and the description adds genuinely useful behavioral detail beyond them: the return shape (uislices with ctx/cfg, empty values omitted) and the read-only nature of collectionFed paths. It stops short of describing error behavior or size limits, so not a 5.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loaded with the core purpose and return shape, then the flow, then the collectionFed caveat. Mostly every sentence earns its place, though the collectionFed sentence is slightly tangential for a read tool and could be trimmed.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With no output schema, the description carries the burden of explaining return values and does so reasonably (ctx/cfg, omissions, collectionFed). A mention of pagination or failure modes is missing, but an agent has enough to call it correctly.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so all three IDs are documented in the schema itself. The description only adds that sectionId may be a section id 'or logicalId' implicitly via the flow of finding it through get_page_content, which is marginal added value over the schema. Baseline 3 applies.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource ('Get a single section's full content and config from a page') and explicitly contrasts with loading the whole page and with sibling tools like get_page_content. An agent can distinguish it from get_partial_content/get_page_content without opening the schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines5/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives an explicit when-to-use ('inspect one section in isolation before editing, instead of loading the whole page') plus a concrete multi-step flow: get_page_content/list_pages to find the id, this tool to read, save_section_content to write. Alternatives and sequencing are spelled out.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
