claim_payment

Credit this API key after a USDC transfer on Base mainnet. Pass the transaction hash. Verifies the on-chain Transfer to the configured payment address, required confirmations, and amount, then credits the ledger once (tx hash + log index is unique). A transaction claimed by one customer cannot be claimed by another. Call get_payment_info first for the address and packs. x402 is a future option and is not implemented.

TDQS

A4.1/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

With no annotations, the description carries the burden and does well: it discloses on-chain verification (Transfer to configured address, required confirmations, amount), single-credit idempotency keyed on tx hash + log index, and cross-customer exclusivity. It omits what an agent observes on rejection (error vs. pending) and whether the call blocks until confirmations land.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Short, front-loaded with the action, then verification mechanics, then the prerequisite. Every sentence carries signal, including the negative note about x402, though that clause is the least essential to invoking the tool correctly.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a one-parameter mutation tool with no annotations and no output schema, this covers prerequisites, verification, idempotency, and exclusivity – the things an agent must know before writing money to a ledger. The remaining gap is the response/error surface, which is undocumented anywhere.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100% and the single parameter already documents the 0x-prefixed Base mainnet transaction hash. The description's 'Pass the transaction hash' adds context about which transfer to point at but no syntax or format meaning beyond the schema, so the baseline 3 is appropriate.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource ('Credit this API key after a USDC transfer on Base mainnet') and ties it to a concrete chain, asset, and target (the API key), which cleanly separates it from siblings like get_balance and get_payment_info. An agent knows exactly what action this performs without opening the schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives an explicit prerequisite and ordering: 'Call get_payment_info first for the address and packs', and rules out x402 explicitly as unimplemented. It does not spell out what to do when verification fails or when a user has already claimed, so it falls short of full when/when-not coverage.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
