Remove collection

remove_collection
DestructiveIdempotent

Delete your collection and its references only. Collections store references, not copied content. They start private. Owner search reads current files in owned bases and published files in other bases. Publication includes only references to currently public bases; private bases and later additions stay out. Every public read checks base publication again. Private or withdrawn collections return 404. Responses use private, no-store.

TDQS

C2.9/5.0
Behavior3/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare destructiveHint=true and idempotentHint=true, so the safety profile is covered. The description does add real value with 'references only, not copied content' (what is actually destroyed) and the 404-on-private/withdrawn behavior, but most of the text is tangential collection/publication boilerplate unrelated to a delete.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness2/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The first sentence is front-loaded and useful, but the next six sentences cover owner search, publication visibility, and cache headers that have no bearing on deleting a collection. This is bloat rather than conciseness, and the agent has to sift for the parts that matter.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness3/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a destructive mutation with no output schema, the description does disclose what is removed and the 404 outcome, and annotations cover idempotency. However, it omits permission/ownership requirements and irreversibility/confirmation expectations while spending space on irrelevant publication semantics.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100% for the single collection_id parameter, so the schema already explains the 64-character ID. The description adds nothing about the parameter and simply says 'your collection', which is baseline-3 territory when the schema does the heavy lifting.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The opening sentence names a specific verb and resource ('Delete your collection') and scopes it precisely ('and its references only', clarifying that it does not delete copied content). It is clear enough to act on, but it never distinguishes itself from close siblings like unpublish_collection or remove_collection_base.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines2/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

There is no when-to-use or when-not-to-use guidance, and no alternative is named despite several plausible siblings (unpublish_collection, remove_collection_base). The agent must infer that this is the teardown path rather than the withdraw path entirely on its own.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
