Get voice profile

get_voice_profile
Read-onlyIdempotent

Read the writer's voice profile: how they sound, their do/don't rules, topics, stances, real material, instructions, and a few of their own posts as examples. Call this before drafting or rewriting anything in the writer's voice. The material bank shows the most recent 30 items; pass detail "full" for all of them.

workspaceNoOptional authorized team workspace name or id. Absence selects the authenticated user's personal account.

A4.3/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnlyHint, idempotentHint, destructiveHint=false, and openWorldHint=false, so safety is covered. The description adds genuine behavioral context beyond them: the material bank is truncated to the 30 most recent items unless "full" is passed, which tells the agent what the default result actually contains.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Two tight sentences: the first enumerates the resource contents, the second front-loads the call-before-drafting directive and the detail flag. No filler or redundancy.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

An output schema exists, so return-shape explanation is unnecessary, and annotations carry the safety profile. What remains — when to call it and how the detail flag affects output — is covered, leaving nothing an agent needs missing.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100%, so the schema already documents detail, writer, and workspace fully, including the 30-item cap and the "me" value. The description only restates the detail="full" behavior, adding essentially nothing the schema does not already say. Baseline 3 applies.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb (read) and resource (writer's voice profile), then enumerates what the profile contains: sound, do/don't rules, topics, stances, real material, instructions, and example posts. This distinguishes it clearly from siblings like list_voice_examples, list_voice_changes, and update_voice_profile.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives an explicit, actionable trigger: "Call this before drafting or rewriting anything in the writer's voice." It does not name when-not to use it or point to sibling alternatives (e.g. list_voice_examples for examples alone), so it stops short of the 5 bar.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
