Watch an event, company or market

watch
Idempotent

Requires a free Messe Atlas account (sign in when prompted). Adds an event, edition, company, organizer, country (ISO code) or vertical (slug) to your workspace's "AI watches" list. Changes (new editions, new exhibitors or sponsors, speakers announced, score changes) arrive in the weekly email digest, and as signed webhooks on the Team plan and up. Watching the same thing twice changes nothing. Free plans watch 1 item, Pro 100, Team and Enterprise 500. Needs the 'atlas.reveal' permission.

A4.4/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Goes well beyond the annotations: states the free-account sign-in requirement, the 'atlas.reveal' permission need, plan-based watch quotas (1/100/500), and the two delivery channels. The 'watching the same thing twice changes nothing' line corroborates idempotentHint=true and destructiveHint=false rather than contradicting them.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loads the account requirement and the action, then layers quota and delivery facts; nearly every sentence carries information an agent needs. The quota sentence and permission clause crowd the tail slightly, but nothing is truly wasted.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With no output schema, the description still covers what happens after the call (digest, webhooks), authorization, quota ceilings, and idempotency — everything needed to invoke a mutation correctly. No meaningful gap remains.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100% and the enum is self-documenting, so the schema already carries the parameter burden. The description echoes the same entity list and the ISO/slug forms rather than adding format or validation detail beyond it, so baseline 3 applies.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb+resource: adding an event, edition, company, organizer, country or vertical to the workspace's 'AI watches' list. The watch-list framing and the idempotency note make it clearly distinguishable from siblings like unwatch and list_watches without needing their schemas.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives clear context for why and when to use it (subsequent changes arrive via weekly digest and signed webhooks on Team+), plus prerequisites. It stops short of explicitly naming unwatch/list_watches as the removal/inspection counterparts, so the when-not path is left implicit.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
