List scenarios

list_scenarios
Read-onlyIdempotent

List a project's what-if scenarios (id and name). A scenario is a private copy of one project's dates. Changes made in it touch nothing until apply_scenario; each answer compares the scenario with the plan as it stands now (every task that differs, old and new dates, and both project end dates). Administrator/ProjectManager only.

A4.1/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already cover readOnly/idempotent/non-destructive, and the description adds what annotations cannot: an authorization requirement (Admin/ProjectManager only) and the semantic meaning of what a scenario holds relative to the live plan. The middle sentence describing the comparison payload is somewhat opaque ('each answer'), slightly muddying rather than fully clarifying the behavior.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loaded with the action and scope, and the definition of a scenario earns its place by disambiguating it from the baseline plan. The 'each answer compares...' sentence is dense and its referent is unclear, mildly diluting an otherwise tight three-sentence definition.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

No output schema exists, and the description compensates by stating the returned fields (id and name) and the authorization requirement, which is what an agent needs before calling. The vague comparison sentence is the only incompleteness, leaving the exact difference report ambiguous.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100% and the lone projectId parameter is documented in the schema, so the schema does the heavy lifting. The description only implies project scoping via 'a project's' and adds no format or constraint detail beyond that, which matches the baseline 3 for fully-covered schemas.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource ('List a project's what-if scenarios') and immediately brackets the payload to id and name. It also defines what the resource is ('a private copy of one project's dates'), which lets an agent separate it from get_scenario (single), create_scenario, and apply_scenario.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives clear context for using it and names apply_scenario as the counterpart that actually propagates changes, making the read-only enumeration role obvious. It also states the access prerequisite (Administrator/ProjectManager only). It stops short of explicitly routing to get_scenario for single-scenario detail, leaving that to inference from the sibling name.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
