Restore deleted email template

lnkdrp_restore_email_template
Idempotent

Brings back an email template deleted with lnkdrp_delete_email_template (or in the app), within 30 days of the delete, in the state it had: active, or archived. Its id is the templateId in the delete's result, and a row of lnkdrp_list_deleted with kind email_template. Refusals: not_found when the id is unknown here or the template was permanently removed (past its 30 days); validation when it is not deleted (details.code not_deleted), when an active template has its name (details.code name_taken), when the workspace is at its cap on active templates (details.code templates_limit, as unarchive answers), or when its workspace is deleted (details.code conflict). Same permission as deleting: a viewer cannot restore.

A4.6/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Goes well past the annotations: it discloses the 30-day retention limit, the restored state, the permission model (a viewer cannot restore, same as delete), and the full refusal taxonomy with details.code values (not_deleted, name_taken, templates_limit, conflict). The only nuance unstated is that a repeated call fails with not_deleted rather than silently succeeding, though the error list covers it.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loaded with purpose and the 30-day window, then the id source, then refusals. Dense but every clause carries operational value; the refusal enumeration is long but justified by the absence of an output schema.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a single-parameter mutation with no output schema, it covers retention window, resulting state, permission requirement, and every failure mode an agent could hit. Nothing needed to call it correctly is missing.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so the baseline is 3; the description adds real meaning by saying the id is the templateId from the delete's result or a lnkdrp_list_deleted row. Minor inconsistency: the schema points to lnkdrp_list_email_templates, which likely does not list deleted templates, so the two id sources conflict slightly.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource (brings back a deleted email template), the window (within 30 days), and the restored state (active or archived). It also names the sibling that produced the deletion (lnkdrp_delete_email_template) and the id source, so it is distinguishable from archive_email_template and restore_email_template_version.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Explains when to use it (recovering a template deleted via the API or the app, inside the 30-day window) and where the id comes from (the delete result or a lnkdrp_list_deleted row with kind email_template). It implicitly rules out permanently removed templates but never explicitly contrasts itself with restore_email_template_version, so a sibling choice still needs inference.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
