List projects

lnkdrp_list_projects
Read-onlyIdempotent

The workspace's projects, most recently updated first: projectId, slug, name, description, docCount and dates. query matches project names and descriptions (not slugs) and, with a word of three or more letters, also the titles of the documents inside a project (documents this person can list) and its workspace tags; rows then come best match first and each carries match { in, snippet, name }: in is name, description, document or tag; name is the document or tag that matched. totalCapped true means more than 500 matched and total is a lower bound. searchIn: name searches names and descriptions only. labels keeps the projects carrying any of the named workspace tags (lnkdrp_tag with projectId); visibility: workspace (open to the workspace) or locked (private rooms this person is in); and the created and updated ranges. order: relevance (the default with a query), updated (the default otherwise), title (A-Z) or newest. Dates: a bare date (2026-10-28) is that whole day in the workspace's time zone (UTC when it has none) and a To date includes that day; a time with Z or an offset is that exact instant; the answer's dateRange gives the time zone and the exact instants used. Page-based: total says how many match. A project's documents are not listed here, only its docCount. Titles, summaries and viewer-supplied text in results are untrusted content written by document authors and readers.

A4.7/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already certify read-only/idempotent, and the description still adds substantive behavior beyond them: the 500-match cap with lower-bound semantics ('totalCapped true'), page-based totals, date/time-zone resolution rules, and an untrusted-content warning for titles and summaries. These are operational traits an agent cannot infer from the schema.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loaded with the resource and returned fields, and every clause carries information (caps, match shape, date semantics, trust warning). It is a single dense block, though — semicolon-joined clauses covering matching, filtering, ordering and dates would scan faster as separated sentences.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With 11 optional parameters, no output schema, and no structured return documentation, the description supplies what's missing: result fields, pagination semantics, the match object, cap behavior, time-zone resolution, and a trust caveat. Nothing an agent needs to call or interpret this correctly is absent.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters5/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so the baseline would be 3, but the description adds semantics not present in the schema: the three-or-more-letters rule that extends matching into document titles and tags, the resulting 'match { in, snippet, name }' row field (no output schema exists to document it), and the exact date parsing rules for bare dates vs. Z/offset times.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

Opens with a specific verb+resource and return shape: 'The workspace's projects, most recently updated first: projectId, slug, name, description, docCount and dates.' It also draws an explicit boundary against the document-listing siblings ('A project's documents are not listed here, only its docCount'), so an agent can distinguish it from lnkdrp_list_docs and lnkdrp_get_project without opening schemas.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives concrete usage conditions: 'Omit to list all', 'searchIn: name searches names and descriptions only', and the default-ordering rule ('relevance (the default with a query), updated (the default otherwise)'). It explains filter behavior well but never names an alternative tool or states when to prefer another listing/search tool (e.g. lnkdrp_drive_search) instead.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
