Inkable Label

Inkable label and tissue price

inkable_price
Read-onlyIdempotent

Inkable Label Co. (inkablelabel.com): the website's own price for any label or custom tissue paper product the website prices online, worked out by inkablelabel.com when you ask, and a link that opens the product page with these options selected. The customer adds to cart, uploads files and pays on the website first, then gets a proof. Most products take 3–10 days after proof approval. Anything the website doesn't price online returns quote_required.

TDQS

A3.8/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations cover safety (readOnly, idempotent, openWorld), so the description is free to add value, and it does: it discloses the downstream fulfillment flow (cart, file upload, payment, proof), a 3–10 day turnaround after proof approval, and a quote_required sentinel for unpriced items. Missing only things like whether the price is authoritative/cached or how volatile it is.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness3/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loaded with the core purpose, which is good, but the opening sentence is meandering ('worked out by inkablelabel.com when you ask') and could be tightened considerably. Remaining sentences (fulfillment flow, turnaround, quote_required) each carry information, so the waste is localized rather than pervasive.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

An output schema exists, so return-value explanation is correctly omitted, and the description still surfaces the one outcome an agent must branch on (quote_required). Given a large optional-field surface, more guidance on which fields matter per product would make it complete.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is reported as 0%, so the description has to compensate, and it only partially does: it points to inkable_options as the source of valid product and option keys/choices. It gives no guidance on the many optional fields (width_in/height_in vs. options WIDTH/HEIGHT, tissue_* fields, designs vs. quantity_per_design), which is a real ambiguity for a 19-field nested request.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb+resource: it returns the website's own price for a label or custom tissue product, plus a deep link to the configured product page. That is clearly distinct from inkable_options (catalog) and submit_quote_request (quote submission), though it never names those siblings directly.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Implied workflow is clear: options come from inkable_options, pricing happens here, and anything not priced online yields quote_required (routing the agent to the quote path). It stops short of explicitly stating when to call this versus submit_quote_request, leaving that inference to the agent.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
