Create or update milestone

save_milestone
Destructive

A4.7/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare destructiveHint=true and idempotentHint=false, so the mutation profile is covered; the description adds what those annotations cannot: absent means leave untouched while null clears description/targetDate, and the workspace is derived from the project rather than passed in. That is exactly the 'what gets destroyed and how' context the annotations leave open.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loaded with the create-vs-update distinction, then constraints, then the alternative tool; every sentence carries information. It is dense and uses caps for emphasis, which is efficient but leaves little slack for scanning.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With no output schema, the description still tells the agent what the create response returns (the resulting `workspace`), and it resolves the misleading zero-required-parameter schema by stating create-time requirements. Only the undocumented `position` parameter keeps it from being fully complete.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 0% and required is empty, so the description must compensate — and it does, marking projectId and name as mandatory on create, giving targetDate an explicit format (epoch ms), and defining the absent-vs-null contract. The only gap is `position`, which appears in the schema but is never explained.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description states a specific verb and resource and splits the two modes cleanly: create when there is no id, update when there is one. It also names the adjacent tool (save_issue with milestoneId) so the agent can tell this apart from issue-level operations without opening either schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines5/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It gives explicit routing: use list_projects/list_milestones to obtain ids, and use save_issue when the goal is to attach issues to a milestone. It also states a hard constraint (a milestone never moves between projects) that closes off a plausible but invalid usage path.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
