Final POS – Custom POS Builder

Make a product bookable

hub_set_product_booking_setup

Point a booking product at its rule set AND the resources that serve it — both in one call, because a product with only one of them takes no bookings at all. resourceIds REPLACES the current list rather than adding to it, so pass every resource that should serve the product. The product must already exist and be of the booking type (create_product with productType "booking").

TDQS

A4.4/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations declare readOnlyHint=false and destructiveHint=false. The description adds crucial behavioral context beyond annotations: resourceIds REPLACES the current list (so existing associations are lost if omitted), and the product must already exist and be a booking type. It does not cover permissions or error behavior, but the replacement semantics are a key disclosure.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Three sentences, front-loaded with the core purpose, followed by the replacement warning and prerequisite. Every sentence adds necessary information without redundancy.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With no output schema and 100% schema coverage, the description provides enough context to call the tool correctly: purpose, prerequisites, and the replacement behavior of resourceIds. It omits error handling and return values, but the former is not essential for invocation and the latter is not required without an output schema.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so the baseline is 3. The description adds critical semantics for resourceIds: it replaces rather than appends, meaning the agent must pass every resource that should serve the product. It also implies productId must reference an existing booking-type product, which supplements the schema's 'Product id from get_products'.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description uses a specific verb phrase ('Point a booking product at its rule set AND the resources') and names the resource. It distinguishes itself from siblings like hub_get_product_booking_setup by emphasizing the write action and the combined setup. An agent can identify the tool's purpose without opening the schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It states when to use the tool (to make a product bookable, requiring both rules and resources) and gives the prerequisite that the product must already exist and be of the booking type. It does not name alternative tools or explicitly say when not to use it, but the context is clear.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
