Get recent page changes

get_source_changes
Read-onlyIdempotent

Get item-level updates across monitored pages, including importance, field values, price deltas, and entry context. Pass sourceId to read one page's changes instead of the whole account's. Either way the read is complete: paged to the end with no sourceId it returns every update the account owns, and narrowing by sourceId returns exactly the subset the unfiltered feed would have reached for that page — so the two agree and neither is a partial history. A page can be empty or shorter than limit while more results remain; continue with pagination.nextCursor until pagination.hasMore is false.

Input Schema

NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
limitNoMaximum updates to return (1-100, default 25).
sinceNoReturn updates at or after this time.
cursorNoOpaque cursor from the previous response's pagination.nextCursor.
sourceIdNoOptional: return only this monitored page's updates. Omit for every page.
importanceNoOptional significance filter.

A4.2/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Beyond the annotations (which already cover read-only, idempotent, non-destructive), the description discloses genuinely useful behavior: the filtered and unfiltered reads agree and neither is a partial history, and a page can be empty or short while more results remain. That empty-page caveat is exactly the trap an agent would otherwise fall into and stop paginating early.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The scoping rule and completeness guarantee are front-loaded and the pagination warning closes it well. The middle clause ('Either way the read is complete... so the two agree and neither is a partial history') restates the same idea in two ways and could be tightened without losing meaning.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With no output schema, the description carries the burden of describing returns, and it does list the notable fields plus the pagination.nextCursor/hasMore contract, which is sufficient to drive the pagination loop. It stops short of describing the full response shape, but an agent can call it correctly without more.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so baseline is 3, but the description adds real meaning for sourceId: narrowing returns exactly the subset the unfiltered feed would have reached for that page, which tells the agent the two calls are consistent rather than disjoint. Other parameters (limit, since, cursor, importance) are left entirely to the schema.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description opens with a specific verb and resource ('Get item-level updates across monitored pages') and enumerates the payload (importance, field values, price deltas, entry context), so the agent knows exactly what it returns. It does not, however, name or contrast itself with the closely related siblings get_entry_changes and get_entry_updates, leaving that disambiguation to inference.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It gives a clear conditional rule: pass sourceId to read one page, omit it for the whole account. It also supplies operational guidance for advancing via pagination.nextCursor until hasMore is false. Missing is any explicit when-not or reference to the sibling change-feed tools.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
