Remix an existing article

remix_from_urls

Run the whole Article Builder in one go for a rewrite: scrape the article at urls, generate titles (or use title), build the outline and write the full article with a fresh angle from prompt. Slow (three generation steps, several minutes) and spends roughly a full builder session of LLM budget. Saves the result as a builder draft and returns { draftId, title, titles, outline, article }. Nothing is published: review it, then publish_article_from_builder with the draftId.

A4.3/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Goes well beyond the annotations: warns it is 'Slow (three generation steps, several minutes)', discloses budget cost ('roughly a full builder session of LLM budget'), states the side effect ('Saves the result as a builder draft'), and confirms 'Nothing is published' — consistent with destructiveHint=false and readOnlyHint=false.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Three sentences, front-loaded with the action, followed by cost/latency warnings and then the output shape plus publishing hand-off. Every sentence carries distinct, decision-relevant information with no padding.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a heavy multi-step tool with no output schema, it supplies the return shape { draftId, title, titles, outline, article } and the next-tool hand-off, which is what an agent needs most. The only real gap is the undocumented optional link/YouTube toggles that affect generation behavior.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters2/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is only 33% (six of nine params undocumented, including locationId, useExternalLinks, useInternalLinks, useYouTubeVideos, youtubeChannelUrl). The description only touches `urls` (article to scrape), `title` and `prompt`, and its notes on title/prompt largely restate the schema's own descriptions, so it does not compensate for the coverage gap.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific action ('Run the whole Article Builder in one go for a rewrite') with the resource being remixed (the article at `urls`). It implicitly and clearly distinguishes itself from the step-by-step siblings (generate_titles, generate_outline, write_from_outline) by framing itself as the whole pipeline in one call.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Explains when to use it (rewriting an existing article at a URL with a fresh angle) and routes the agent to the correct follow-up: 'Nothing is published: review it, then publish_article_from_builder with the draftId.' It doesn't explicitly name the manual step-by-step alternatives for comparison, so the contrast with siblings is inferable rather than spelled out.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
