Nakshatra Prediction

asterwise_get_nakshatra_prediction
Read-only

Personal daily prediction from Tarabala and Chandrabala for the day at the birth place (sunrise to next sunrise).

WORKFLOW: BEFORE: None — birth data computes everything needed. AFTER: asterwise_get_panchanga — the day's full panchanga; asterwise_get_muhurta — Tarabala-aware windows for an activity.

INPUT CONTRACT: birth: BirthData (date, time, lat, lon, timezone). Unknown birth time: omit time; never pass '00:00'. target_date (optional, YYYY-MM-DD): defaults to today at the birth place.

DO NOT CONFUSE WITH: asterwise_get_nakshatra_details — static nakshatra reference, not a personal prediction. asterwise_get_panchanga — daily panchanga (tithi, yoga, karana), not Tarabala.

A4.5/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already declare readOnly/openWorld=false/no-destructive, so the safety profile is covered; the description adds real behavioral context the annotations cannot: the tool needs an exact birth time, has no sunrise fallback, and handles unknown-time edge cases. It also names where the full output/error contract lives, which is useful given a rich output schema.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Front-loads the one-line purpose, then uses labeled sections (WORKFLOW, INPUT CONTRACT, DO NOT CONFUSE WITH) so an agent can scan to the relevant block. Every sentence carries routing, input, or disambiguation value; nothing is filler.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a 3-parameter tool with a nested birth object, full schema coverage, rich annotations, and an output schema, the description supplies exactly the missing layer: when to use it, what to call before/after, how it differs from adjacent tools, and the required-input contract.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so the baseline is 3, and the description mostly restates what the schema already says (target_date defaults to today at the birth place, birth = date/time/lat/lon/timezone). It does add one non-schema behavior note about unknown birth time, but that note ('omit time') sits awkwardly against the schema's required list for birth, so it adds ambiguity rather than clean extra meaning.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a precise verb+resource+scope: a personal daily prediction derived from Tarabala and Chandrabala, anchored to the birth place and the sunrise-to-sunrise day. The DO NOT CONFUSE WITH block explicitly separates it from asterwise_get_nakshatra_details (static reference) and asterwise_get_panchanga (daily panchanga), so an agent can route correctly without opening either schema.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines5/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives explicit BEFORE: None and AFTER: follow-ups (asterwise_get_panchanga, asterwise_get_muhurta) plus a named set of non-alternatives with the reason each is excluded. This is about as close to a routing decision table as a description gets.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
