glm5 flash chat completions

glm5_flash_chat_completions
Read-only

OpenAI-compatible chat completions on Zhipu GLM-5.3 Flash, inexpensive reasoning with tool calling and a 1M-token context. Set your OpenAI SDK base URL to https://agentrxi.com/v1/glm5-flash and pay per token with x402 instead of an API key: $0.45 per million input and $1.5 per million output tokens, minimum $0.002 a call, at most $0.0401. The 402 quotes your request's maximum; "upto" payers are charged only the tokens used. Same request/response shape as OpenAI (tool calling, reasoning, streaming supported), up to 8192 output tokens. Costs $0.0401 USDC per call (x402).

TDQS

A3.8/5.0
Behavior5/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Adds substantial behavior beyond the thin annotations: payment model (x402 instead of API key), exact pricing tiers, minimum and maximum call cost, the 402 max-quote semantics, the 'upto' charging rule, the required base URL, and the 8192 output-token cap. These are operational facts an agent cannot get from the schema or annotations.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness3/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Purpose and compatibility are front-loaded, but the pricing is restated redundantly ('at most $0.0401' then 'Costs $0.0401 USDC per call') and the sentence about request/response shape repeats the opening. A tighter version would drop the duplicate cost figure.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

Given a complex, non-standard payment/auth setup and no output schema, the definition covers integration (base URL, x402), response shape ('same as OpenAI'), and limits well enough to call it. The undocumented temperature parameter is the main residual gap.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

With only 33% schema description coverage the description must compensate, and it partly does: it clarifies that model is ignored, that tools are OpenAI function tools, that streaming is supported, and that output is capped at 8192 tokens (relevant to max_tokens). It adds nothing about temperature, so the gap is not fully closed.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb+resource (OpenAI-compatible chat completions) and names the underlying model (Zhipu GLM-5.3 Flash) with its key traits: inexpensive reasoning, tool calling, 1M-token context. However, among many sibling chat_completions tools (glm5_chat_completions, glm52_chat_completions, glm_chat_completions), it never explicitly says how it differs from those, leaving sibling selection to inference.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines3/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

The word 'inexpensive' plus '1M-token context' and 'reasoning' implies cost-sensitive/long-context use, but there is no explicit when-to-use, when-not-to-use, or named alternative. An agent must infer positioning relative to the other GLM/conversational siblings.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
