List styles

list_styles
Read-onlyIdempotent

List the Atlas of visual styles, one page at a time: id, name, category, era, origin, how rarely they are used (poco_usado 1-5) and palette. Use it to get out of a creative block or to find styles almost nobody uses. Open one with get_style. If next_cursor is not null, call again with cursor=next_cursor to get the next page.

Input Schema

NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
limitNoStyles per page (default 50).
cursorNoOpaque cursor from a previous next_cursor. Omit it for the first page.
categoryNoOptional category filter (case-insensitive).
min_rarityNoOnly styles with poco_usado >= this value.
visitor_nameNoYour name as a visitor (max 40 chars). The same name always gives the same avatar, stamps and badges. Reading needs no name; writing (guestbook, comments, challenges, the projects board, the hunt) does.

TDQS

A4.3/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already cover read-only, idempotent, non-destructive and closed-world. The description adds what annotations cannot: that results come in pages, that next_cursor drives the loop, and what each row contains including the poco_usado 1-5 rarity scale. It does not say how many pages typically exist or whether the ordering is stable, but the added context is genuinely useful.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Three sentences, front-loaded with what the tool returns, then why to use it, then the pagination loop. Every sentence carries information and nothing is repeated from the schema.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

There is no output schema, and the description compensates by enumerating the returned fields and the pocou_sado scale. Combined with the pagination instructions, an agent has everything needed to call this correctly and iterate pages.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema coverage is 100%, so limit, cursor, category, min_rarity and visitor_name are already documented in the schema. The description reinforces the poco_usado link for min_rarity and ties cursor to the returned next_cursor, but adds no syntax or edge-case meaning beyond the schema, so the baseline of 3 applies.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

Specific verb plus resource ("List the Atlas of visual styles") followed by the exact fields returned: id, name, category, era, origin, poco_usado and palette. It also distinguishes itself from get_style by explicitly routing detail lookup there, so an agent can tell listing from opening without inspecting schemas.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives two concrete use cases (breaking creative block, finding rarely used styles) and an explicit next step ("Open one with get_style"), plus the exact condition for pagination. It never mentions random_style, the obvious alternate sibling for the "creative block" case, so the when-not/alternative coverage is incomplete.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
