List saved rulesets

dsail_list_rulesets
Read-onlyIdempotent

See which written policies already have rules a program can check.

Use when a team may already have formalised the handbook or written criteria, and the caller needs to find existing rules before starting again.

The rulesets saved in the workspace in use. On a client that renders MCP Apps this opens the ruleset library: one row per ruleset with its name, what it decides, how many questions it asks, how many rules it applies, whether anyone has approved it and when it last changed. A row opens that ruleset in the review widget, so the rows are already in front of the user. The namespace field is a service-internal identifier, not a name a person would recognise.

A4/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

Annotations already establish the safety profile (readOnlyHint=true, idempotentHint=true, destructiveHint=false), so the description's burden is low. It still adds value by disclosing the MCP Apps rendering behavior (opening the ruleset library with per-row details) and clarifying that the namespace field is an internal identifier, not a recognizable name. No contradiction with annotations.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

Purpose is front-loaded in the first sentence, followed by usage context and then rendering detail. Each sentence earns its place with no filler, though the rendering paragraph runs slightly longer than strictly necessary for a list tool.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a zero-parameter, read-only list tool with a rich annotations block and an output schema present, the description is complete. It covers why to use it, what happens when it renders, and the meaning of a potentially confusing output field.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters4/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

With zero parameters there is nothing to document; per the rubric the baseline is 4 for a no-parameter tool. The only parameter-adjacent mention is the namespace field clarification, which concerns output, not input.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose4/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific purpose: seeing which written policies already have rules a program can check. The framing 'already have rules' and 'before starting again' implicitly contrasts with the creation tools in the sibling set (dsail_save_ruleset, dsail_copy_ruleset), though no sibling is named explicitly.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Gives a concrete trigger condition: when the team may already have formalized the handbook/written criteria and the caller needs to find existing rules before recreating them. This is clear context, but it doesn't state when NOT to use the tool or explicitly name the alternative creation/load tools.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
