get_cluster_stack_security

Read-only

Read one stack's full security posture on a cluster: status, scope, the CVE posture across its workloads, the CISA-listed exploited findings among them, the top actionable findings, the bill-of-materials picture, and the same figures per member (add-on or manifest). A member with zero matched workloads is unmatched, never clean. Read-only. Drill further with list_security_sbom_containers (a member's pods and containers, by workload_kind + workload_name) and get_cluster_pod_security.

Input Schema

NameRequiredDescriptionDefault
cluster_idYesThe cluster id (uuid). list_security_cluster_posture lists the clusters.
stack_nameYesThe stack's name as list_cluster_security_stacks lists it.

A4.2/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

readOnlyHint already declares the safety profile, and the description reinforces 'Read-only.' Beyond that it adds a genuine domain rule — 'A member with zero matched workloads is unmatched, never clean' — which prevents a false-negative interpretation of empty results. No auth/rate-limit detail, but the annotation floor is met and real behavioral context is added.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness4/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The purpose and scope lead the description, followed by the drill-down guidance and the unmatched caveat. It is dense with enumerated return areas, which is justified given there is no output schema, but the single long sentence listing seven content areas is slightly heavy.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness5/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

With no output schema, the description carries the burden of explaining returns and does so thoroughly, listing each posture dimension plus per-member figures. It also provides the correct next-step tools, so an agent has everything needed to call and follow up.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100% and both parameters are documented in the schema, including pointers to the listing tools. The description adds no syntax or format guidance beyond that, so the baseline of 3 applies.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

States a specific verb and resource ('Read one stack's full security posture on a cluster') and then enumerates the exact content domains returned: status, scope, CVE posture, CISA exploited findings, top actionable findings, BOM, and per-member figures. This clearly distinguishes it from the list-level sibling list_cluster_security_stacks.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

Names two concrete drill-down alternatives (list_security_sbom_containers and get_cluster_pod_security) and the fields they consume (workload_kind + workload_name), which routes the agent well. It does not explicitly state when NOT to use it versus the aggregate list tool, so it stops short of a 5.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
