get_application_publish_readiness

Read-only

Report whether an Application's repository can publish container images to the registry it is pointed at: the credential, the repository's Actions configuration, the package visibility, and whether an image has actually been pushed. This is what explains a build that ran green but produced nothing to deploy. Each check answers 'unknown' when the registry could not be read at all, which is not the same as a check that found nothing - an Application whose images Ankra cannot see is not an Application without images. Read-only.

TDQS

A4.2/5.0
Behavior4/5

Does the description disclose side effects, auth requirements, rate limits, or destructive behavior?

The annotations already declare readOnlyHint=true, and the description confirms 'Read-only.' Beyond that, it adds meaningful behavioral context: each check returns 'unknown' when the registry cannot be read, which is explicitly distinguished from a check that found nothing. This prevents misinterpretation, though it does not cover permissions, rate limits, or output structure.

Agents need to know what a tool does to the world before calling it. Descriptions should go beyond structured annotations to explain consequences.

Conciseness5/5

Is the description appropriately sized, front-loaded, and free of redundancy?

The description is front-loaded, with the core purpose stated first, followed by a use case and an important semantic nuance about 'unknown'. Every sentence earns its place, and the closing 'Read-only.' is a compact confirmation of the annotation.

Shorter descriptions cost fewer tokens and are easier for agents to parse. Every sentence should earn its place.

Completeness4/5

Given the tool's complexity, does the description cover enough for an agent to succeed on first attempt?

For a read-only diagnostic tool with a simple one-parameter schema and no output schema, the description is largely complete: it explains what checks are performed and how to interpret 'unknown'. It stops short of describing the exact return format or structure, which would be helpful given the absence of an output schema.

Complex tools with many parameters or behaviors need more documentation. Simple tools need less. This dimension scales expectations accordingly.

Parameters3/5

Does the description clarify parameter syntax, constraints, interactions, or defaults beyond what the schema provides?

Schema description coverage is 100% for the single required parameter (application_id), so the schema already provides the parameter meaning. The description adds no additional semantics for the parameter, making the baseline score of 3 appropriate.

Input schemas describe structure but not intent. Descriptions should explain non-obvious parameter relationships and valid value ranges.

Purpose5/5

Does the description clearly state what the tool does and how it differs from similar tools?

The description states a specific verb ('Report whether') and resource ('an Application's repository can publish container images to the registry it is pointed at'), and enumerates the four checks it performs. This is highly specific and inherently distinguishes it from general application tools like get_application or get_application_deployments.

Agents choose between tools based on descriptions. A clear purpose with a specific verb and resource helps agents select the right tool.

Usage Guidelines4/5

Does the description explain when to use this tool, when not to, or what alternatives exist?

It provides a clear usage context: 'This is what explains a build that ran green but produced nothing to deploy.' That tells an agent when to reach for this tool. However, it does not name alternative tools or give explicit exclusions, so it falls short of a full 5.

Agents often have multiple tools that could apply. Explicit usage guidance like "use X instead of Y when Z" prevents misuse.
